describing in detail a sex scene between a 19 year old (ADULT) and a 15 year old (MINOR) is disgusting and abhorrent. i will never understand this woman's thought process. romanticising abuse too? gross. but, as always, colleens little booktok fangirls will always rally behind her. if i have to walk past a display with just this woman's books labelled 'booktok picks of the week' I will actually lose my mind. stop putting this awful writer on a pedestal.

The insta-relationships in this book annoyed me a little; the only character build up is between young Lily and young Atlas, in the small portion of the book they have. The theme of the book moved me, was played out fairly well, but I do need to agree with another rating that the ending ruined it for me somewhat. It's a good read though, only put it down for sleep and work!

I was expecting a soppy romance with a with a woman torn between two loves, but this book actually portrays an extremely thought-provoking view of an abusive relationship. The reader begins to understand why so many women stay with their abusers and the turmoil and confusion they feel in the relationships. It's definitely worth the read!
