About the author
Abhishek Choudhary is a writer in Delhi. The prequel to this book, Vajpayee: The Ascent of the Hindu Right 1924–77, won the 2023 Tata Literature First Book award, and was a notable book of the year in the Hindu, the Telegraph and Frontline. The research for this book was supported primarily by a fellowship from the New India Foundation and, in the last lap, by a grant from the Robert B. Silvers Foundation.
