"Васса Железнова" - произведение русского прозаика и драматурга, одного из самых известных в мире русских писателей и мыслителей А. М. Горького (1868 – 1936). Пьеса написана в 1910 году. Повествует о владелице пароходной компании, распаде большой семьи. Традиционно идея пьесы рассматривалась как изображение разложения буржуазии. В последние годы критики уделяют больше внимания образу Вассы, недюжинности ее характера. Перу Горького принадлежат и такие произведения: "Вездесущее", "Весельчак", "Вечер у Панашкина", "Вечер у Сухомяткина", "Вечер у Шамова".
