About this game

One of the most anticipated independent puzzle games of 2017! Nominated for the IndiePlay Awards of "Best Art".

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far." -- H.P. Lovecraft

Appearing deceptively peaceful to the casual passerby, a mysterious island exists in the far reaches of the Atlantic Ocean. The inhabitants know not how they got there or why they stay; all they’re sure of is that the place in which they are trapped is called Isoland.

You are a researcher who has received a letter from a friend imploring you to help with an investigation on Isoland. You travel to the mysterious island, seeking to unravel its mysteries -- but after you arrive, you realize all too late that you, too, are now trapped. Beware of being lulled into complacency by the beauty of the island: Use your wits to avoid being tricked, and unravel the logic behind complex puzzles. Only then will the secrets of Isoland be revealed.

I liked what this game has to offer in terms of puzzles. Good exercise for modest times and form part of a rather simplistic yet, a plausible plotline. However, its not entertaining neither interesting enough to keep one wanting to returning. It could do wonders for a younger audience but, many matured people would rather find it dull (SPOILERS) esp. when repeating the same puzzles after the first round is over. It's not a waste of money, but certainly not worth it.

Puzzles weren't too hard, what's harder finding some of the clues, and discovering that you have to talk to the characters to get things rolling. Bonus game was good too, though a little disconcerting to have to hit "new game" to get there. I don't usually buy games from an author with no previous work to sample free, but I'm glad I took the gamble.

If you enjoy quality point and click games from developers such as Rusty Lake (cube escape, and Glitch Games, then you won't be disappointed with the Isoland series. And there's always more to do after first completion. Definitely good value for money. Lots of small extra details in the artwork that you may not notice at first glance. The puzzles are a good mix of traditional puzzles you may have seen in some way before, and some great outside the box type puzzles. But always fair.
